Joshua Cambri serves all municipalities under SFP’s care as a misdemeanor prosecutor, code enforcer, and legal advisor. As a trained social worker and-now attorney, Joshua takes a measured, thoughtful stance on all of his cases. His training and previous experience as an Assistant City Attorney at the City of Flint has led him to adopt a unique community-focused approach to municipal law. Joshua recognizes that every municipality has different needs and wants to meet each community where they are at. This approach carries over into the other areas of law as Joshua provides assistance to SFP’s other attorneys and the various legal fields that they practice in.
Joshua is a long-time Genesee County resident, growing up in Grand Blanc, graduating with his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan-Flint, and has only left the area to pursue his Juris Doctor & Masters in Social Work at Michigan State University. While there, Joshua served as a law clerk under the State of Michigan Executive Office of the Governor and spent three consecutive years teaching high school students in Detroit on their Fourth and Fifth Amendment rights. Upon his return to Genesee County, Joshua received the John F. Beagle scholarship from the Genesee County Bar Association and currently sits on the board of Youth Arts: Unlocked.
Joshua is an advocate for various social causes and participates in judging legal competitions like the Gender and Sexuality Moot Court Competition at MSU. In his free time, he competes in trading card game events, thrifts across mid and southeast Michigan, and spends time with his family (including two cats and a dog). Since starting at SFP, Joshua has also taken up golfing and hopes to be as good as his fellow attorneys someday.
